**Open Letter to UPAAS**

To the Mancom and Members of the University of the Philippines Alumni Association Singapore,

My heart is filled with so much joy and gratitude as I reach another significant milestone in my life. This was just a dream before and now it feels surreal to see this turning into reality.

The achievement of this dream would not have been possible without the people who extended their hand and offered their support. Most importantly, I express my sincerest gratitude to all the people behind UPAAS.

UPAA Singapore Scholarship extends far more than a financial support for my studies. It is also a living testimony of our shared principle of “paying it forward.” I am beyond grateful for the opportunity of receiving the scholarship. But more than that, thank you for becoming a constant reminder that there are people who believe in me and are rooting for my success, especially during times where I doubt myself.

As I close this chapter of my college life and start with a new journey, I bring with me the values you instilled — the importance of giving back and of believing in someone’s potential. Just like you, I hope to become someone’s reason for success in the future. You have made a difference in my life and I am empowered to ripple this effect as I move forward.

With sincere appreciation

Aya Lamadrid

UPAA Singapore Scholar
